Are you curious and want to learn authentic dancehall moves and choreographies?

Come to X-Step and experience the Jamaican original.

Dancehall at the dance school X-Step in Berlin

Our Dancehall trainer Swaggi Maggi constantly visits Jamaica and promotes authentic Dancehall Cultur in Berlin and throughout Germany.

At the 15-year aniversary celebration of our dance school she was judging a battle in the in these times tiny little dancehall scene in Germany and Poland. Now she brings Jamaican dancehall performers to Berlin and establishes dancehall culture, showing the real dance behind commercial videos and confronts the stereotypes transmitted through them.

After an extensive warm-up we will teach you basic steps of oldscholl dancehall and new scholl dancehall. Afterwards you will have fun dancing a choreography using the steps you just learned. At the end of every class you will work out and strech.

Get fit and agile with dancehall. Fun is guaranteed!

The main focus of my dance style lies on original jamaican moves like Nuh Linga, Ova Step,  Nuh Behaviour, Sassa Step, etc. , that are danced by both males and females on dancehall parties all over the world and are mostly created by jamaican dancers. Herein lies my fascination for this culture, in which dance, music and a certain style / flow cannot be separated from one another. I want to share this love and a sensitivity for jamaican dance culture
with my students.
